Structural Pipe Coating and Finish
Galvanized structural pipe is coated with a protective zinc coating to prevent it from rusting. The pipe can be galvanized in two ways, either the material is dipped in molten zinc or the steel sheet from which the pipe is made is galvanized by an electro-chemical reaction.
Black coated pipe is coated with a dark colored iron oxide.
Red oxide primed pipe is coated with a base coat for ferrous metals. This coating protects the iron and steel surfaces.
Uncoated structural pipe is a steel pipe without any coating.
